New Years Eve in Berlin

Hi,    

my name is Tim Fredriksson and I am from Sweden. This December me and my family will go to Berlin. We will celebrate New Years Eve abroad for the first time. We have heard that Brandenburger Tor is the place to be, but we have also heard that it is crowded. 

Therefore I would like to reserve space for two adults and two children at Brandenburger Tor during December 31th between 23.30-00:30. Or do you think we need to stay until 01.00? When does the fireworks end?

Greece Euro coins not accepted in Germany?

Hello,
I will soon do a business trip to Berlin. I have some EURO coins from Greece, where I spent last summer. However, I have heard that due to the crisis between Germany and Greece you Germans do not accept the Greece coins. My question is: can I at least use the Greece-Euro-coins when I tip? (eg taxi drivers, restuarants, strippers, etc).

Dear Tim,

I do not believe you will any trouble using Greek Euro coins.
Especially in every day money exchanges, you will find that people do not check the coins that carefully to see where it originated. The novelty of that wore off a number of years ago.

Slowest legal speed on DAS AUTOBAHN?

this is Tim Fredriksson from Sweden. This summer me and my family will travel through Germany by car. I easily get sick when driving fast, and I also think it is an expensive waste of fuel when you drive faster than 70 km/h. But what is the slowest legal speed on DAS AUTOBAHN?

thank you for your request. According to § 18 (1) of the German Straßenverkehrsordnung (StVO) you are allowed to use German motorways only with those vehicles which have a max speed of more than 60 km/h. So this in general can be defined as a minimum speed for vehicles when using German motorways; but you have to consider that f. ex. in parts with roadwork the max. speed is below than 60 km/h. The real max. permissible speed depends on the max. speed which is determined by the road sign.
