New Years Eve in Paris

Hi,


my name is Tim Fredriksson and I am from Sweden. This December me and my family will go to Paris, the city of love. We will celebrate New Years Eve over there. We have heard that Champs-Elysses is the place to be. But I have also heard that it is crowded. Therefore I would like to reserve space for two adults and two children at Champs-Elysses during December 31th between 23.30-00:30. Or do you think we need to stay until 01.00? When does the fireworks end?

Hello,

There is no firework for new year’s eve in Paris. You can stay on the Champs-Elysées but there is no reservation to do. You are in the street. It’s very crowded. With children, it’s better to be at Montmartre, more quiet. You go near place du Tertre. Or also at Saint-Germain des près.

Avoiding French Tourists?

Hi over there,

I am Tim Fredriksson from Sweden. Me and my family are planing to go to America this summer, and one of the stops will definitely be New York and the Statue of Liberty.
However, my neighbour, Olof Andersson, says that we have to avoid visiting the monument when there are French tourists around. According to Olof, French tourists have priority to go up to the crown, since France gave the staute. (This privilegie is even stated on the lady's plaque, although in small font.) I haven't been able to find any information about this, but Olof says that this is because its all in French, which I don't speak.
So, could you please inform me which days during the summer when there are the least amount of French tourists? We don't want to spend the entire New York-visit queueing...

Olof is pulling your leg. There is such writing on the plaque and French tourists are not given priority. Please visit our website for current visitor information at www.statuecruises.com. Have a good visit.

Asian spit rain at the Eiffel Tower

Hi over there,
I am Tim Fredriksson from Sweden. Me and my family are planing to go to Paris this Spring. The trip will of course not be complete without a visit to the Eiffel Tower!

However, my neighbour, Olof Andersson, strongly recommend us to bring umbrellas. According to Olof, we could arrive to the Eiffel Tower when a bunch of Asian tourists are at the top. Since the Asian tourists love to spit out in the air we at the ground will be all covered in Asian spit rain if we don’t have umbrellas.

Is this really true? And is it possible to buy umbrellas at the tower?
